Two Year Professional Programme
Course
D.El.Ed is a 2 Year professional program of teacher education. The full-time diploma course is divided into 4 semesters. This course prepares teachers with broad knowledge of the subject areas, principles for child development, education practice, study of school pedagogy, current classroom tnds and role of teacher in the grooming of students. The course has been designed to impart teaching skills, teaching methodology and subject-wise knowledge to the learners. It aims to prepare teachers for the elementary stage of education, i.e. classes I to VII to acquaint them with the basic learning needs of all childen in an inclusive school environment bridging social and gender gaps with the active participation of the community.
1. Practicum and School Internship:
Field engagement courses are designed to give opportunities to acquire a repertoi of professional skills and capacities in craft, fine arts, work and education, creative drama and theatre in education, self-development, children’s physical and emotional health, school health and education. The D.El.Ed program provides for sustained engagement with learners and the school, thereby creating a synergy with schools in the neighborhood throughout the two years. Schools during the course of which 4 weeks wold be dedicated to classroom observations etc. during the first year; second year of school internship will be for minimum period of 16 weeks in the elementary classes, including primary and upper primary.
2. Elegibility Criteria and Admission:
- A candidate seeking admission to the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) course must secure at least 50% marks (5% marks relaxed for reserved category SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled and other category) in 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized Board.
- Admission process for the course comprises an entrance exam followed by a round of personal interview.
- Based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam, personal interview and marks obtained, he/she will be provided admission into the course.
3. Course Duration: 2 Years
4. Intake Capacity: 2 Units = 100 Seats

- A Candidate shall make the full payment of Rs. 3300 as admission fees at the time of taking Admission at 1st and 3rd Semester as shown above on or before the due date.
- The additional Semester fee of Rs. 1400 has to be paid at the beginning of 2nd and 4th Semester
